Russia expects 2018 grain harvest to fall 15% to 115 mln tns
MOSCOW, May 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s grain harvest may fall 15% on the year to 115 million tonnes in 2018, the Agriculture Ministry said in a report published on Friday.
Previously, the ministry forecasted the grain harvest at 110–115 million tonnes this year.
Russia’s output of plant products may remain flat on the year in comparable prices in 2018, or rise by 0.5%. The harvest of sugar beetroot may fall 24% to 39.3 million tonnes in 2018, while the harvest of potatoes may rise by 0.5% to 29.7 million tonnes, the report read.
In 2017, Russia harvested an all-time record of 135.4 million tonnes of grain.
